About Agrana
History of the AGRANA Group
AGRANA’s history began in the 1960s with the establishment of starch factories in Austria, focusing on producing starch and sugar for local and international markets. Before the 1988 merger that created AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG, the company had already built a strong foundation in agricultural processing. Over the years, AGRANA expanded its operations and created the specialized divisions of FRUIT, STARCH and SUGAR to better cater to these markets.
Today, AGRANA has over 9000 employees who operate 55 separate production sites across the globe to achieve annual revenues of several billion Euros. Due to their global impact they have made strong commitments to sustainability and funded associated innovation, both to do their part to improve the world and to secure market share in our more environmentally conscious future economy.
